Some uses may find Personyze a bit overwhelming because of its large arsenal of features. To be fare, I think that Personyze is the most intelligent Business Intelligence tool ever created. There are many times that you want to optimize your website content and personalize it for specific segment of visitors. Take Amazon and eBay for example, they are the masters of content personalization. You might not be aware that things are happening at the background, but they both utilize a very smart content personalization system. This system allows them to maximize leads and conversions by showing relevant content to different segment of visitors.
Another cool thing that I have found about Personyze is that it offers both online and offline visitor tracking. Many platform have tried to address the offline section as a part of a multi channel solution for eCommerce websites. From what I’ve seen, non of them use it as a part of the advanced segmentation like Personyze does. With Personyze, everything can become a segment and can be used as a Goal for the Optimizer. Take the Containers for example, the containers can both accept content and Personyze can extract content from with in them.
On my eCommerce website I have placed a container which put a unique offline customer ID. When a person call my sales department, I instruct him to give the ID from the website to the salesman which he talks on the phone. Not all my website sales are done online, some of them are made using offline contact, by phone. The customer calls the sales department and order the products. The problem with that is that by him doing so, we than lose the funnel of purchase because the user has ordered product by phone and not via the online shopping cart. By generatign a unique identification number for each customer (per session), I can track the conversions and create a query in the reports that shows me what customer X has done on my website prior to calling the sales department and ordering.
