I was browsing through dpreview and found a link that leads to a Japanese website with some new images taken with the SD1. Adding those photos to the one on Sigma's website, I must admit that the image quality is not convincing at all. I can even say that I am a bit gentle here with Sigma. When you view those images they look soft, lack of contrast and the colors don't look natural at all. Compare those images to the top Nikon and Canon DSLR, and you see that the IQ of the Nikon and Canon is much better. Maybe it's to early to judge because I don't know which firmware was used in those photos. However, this looks like a big disappointment. I just can't imagine that I was saving for this camera, put all (ok, not all) hopes on it and BAM, Image quality is far from being satisfactory.

If you viewed some of the image taken by Carl at http://www.rytterfalk.com/, you can see that the sample photos are pretty good. The thing is that when you look at them closely, they just don't have the Foveon image quality signature. Don't get me wrong, they look good, but they don't have the punch that the Sigma SD15 has. What's your opinion?
