So you probably get my point. There are many behavioral targeting tools and real-time web analytics SaaS solutions, all offer a large variety of data analysis functionality. But again, it is all about what happening on your website and not outside it. If you are following me, you will see that what's most important is what is happening outside: What is the source of the main activity in Facebook or Twitter?, What people are saying about my website in social networks and in social bookmarking sites?, Are the reactions are negative or positive?, What my customers are telling their friends on facebook?, etc. Admit it, you want to know that information too. Many websites has their own implementation of getting the insight from social networking sites like Facebook for example. I guess at least one website owner has implemented a way to find information about its customers who logged on using their Facebook account, and he scrap their public account in order to find some piece of information related to its purchases.
Whether today web analytics can achieve such thing, if so, those with the BI and personalization tools will be the closet ones to get it right.
