First thing, you need to understand that actions are used to make a change on your website, usually a visual change that can attract engagement from your online website visitors. So the reason we want to create actions is that we want to change something on our websites, and hopefully we want to see how the visitors react to that change and measure it by Personyze optimizer afterward. So until now I think that everything is pretty clear and simple. So what kind of actions do we have in Personyze?
Perosnyze offers many kind of actions, that I think we will see more and more of them in the near future. Perosnyze offers: HTML, JavaScript, Image, Redirect, Popup, Font properties, Replace text, Style and Email actions. As I told you, those actions are used to make a change on your website for most of the time, but some of them are used (ex. Email) for background orders. So let me exaplain a little bit more on every action that we have in Personyze Web Analytics.
Today in this post, I want to further explain more about Personyze features. At first, I remember explaining to my blog visitors about how to build segments and today I want to further clarify about Actinos and Action Groups and how they are connceted to the segments that you have built previously. So let's start going over the basic things and from their we will continue.

Available Web Analytics Actions in Personyze
Perosnyze offers many kind of actions, that I think we will see more and more of them in the near future. Perosnyze offers: HTML, JavaScript, Image, Redirect, Popup, Font properties, Replace text, Style and Email actions. As I told you, those actions are used to make a change on your website for most of the time, but some of them are used (ex. Email) for background orders. So let me exaplain a little bit more on every action that we have in Personyze Web Analytics.
HTML Actions - the HTML is pretty simple and yet very robustive and flexible. With the HTML action you can create different content to display on your websites. You can use the WYSIWYG editor, in order to even include a full page with content. It is all depends on the HTML content that you want to present in that action. In there you can choose the containers that the actions can work inside them. As I told you on previous posts, for some actions, you need to specify a container, so the action will know where it can take place and where it shouldn't. You don't want the actions to replace the website header on its own.
JavaScript Action - the JavaScript action is used to add a JavaScript code to the page dynamically. So maybe you want to change a variable value from "X" to "Y" and do that when a specific segment takes place, you can do that with the JavaScript Action. Furthermore and as in other actions, you can choose to restrict the action to work only specific page groups. Page groups are a collection of page URLs with their own name.
Image Action - probably will be a very popular action among web analytics experts and website owners who want to to test which image brings more conversions. In the Image Action you can specify an image that you want to use as an action. You can point to an image outside your website, like in Flickr, Smugmug, Facebook, PBase.com and other photo sharing websites. You can choose to upload an image using the media manager using the UI or choose from existing images from the gallery. you can specify the height and width of the image if you decide that you want to make modifications.
Redirect Action - Redirect actions will do what it say, redirect the visitor to a specific page that the website administrator want to, when a specific segment has taken place. You can choose the URL for which the visitor should be redirected. The redirect happens on the client side of course, because (as for now) Personyze use JavaScript code to take make the actions.
Popup Action - Another actions that I think that many webmasters will use. The popup action was made to enable website administrators and web analytics experts to create a DIV element with content in it. It means that you can use the HTML WYSIWYG editor in order to put any kind of content inside the DIV element. You can even choose to load a specific URL inside that DIV. You have the option to choose whether you want a close link or not and other options that are relevant only to that action. The popup actions is not a really popup window, and that means that it won't be restricted when a popup blocker is installed. It is just a DIV and displayed (display: block) when needed.
Font Properties Action - This actions can be use to change the properties of the font on a specific page or pages. What it dies is that it can override the font settings and attributes and therefore, display the fonts in different sizes, bold/italic/underline/, color, background color and so on. Pretty cool if you want to emphasize some text on your website when a specific segment took place.
Replace Text Action - This action is used to replace text on your page. It means that what you need to do is to tell the action what text to search (and where), and the action will change the text to another text, and also can change the color of the text, make it bold or underline.
Style Action - Using the CSS Style action, a webmaster can make changes to the style elements of the page by applying a specific stylesheet CSs attributes to a specific container on the page. That means that if you have created a container in the right side of your page to hold image actions, you can create an actions that will change the background of the container when a specific segments has happened. You can do some pretty cool stuff with it.
Email Action - As it sounds, you can send email to a specific address or addresses when a specific segment has happened.
So this is what Personye Real-time web analytics offers in terms of actions. If you know how to take control of all those actions, and believe me that it is not complicated, I am sure that you can use it to your advantage and specify specific conditions for specific visitors.
So now its time to further explain about Action Groups. Actions groups are groups that hold actions. It main purpose is to execute several actions at the same time, and also give some more advanced functionality and to provide the website owner with an option to rotate between actions (good for content optimization testings purposes using Personyze Optimizer). So the fact that you can execute several actions at the same time, give you large amount of flexibility and you can even change the whole page if you like. The actions groups are connected to segment. If think that I by mistake told you that actions are connected to segments, so let me correct this. Actions groups are connected to a behavior/segment. so when a specific visitor behavior had happened (as behavior is for specific user session and not all users), you can choose to execute one or more actions groups at the same time.
This is it for my second presentation of teaching you more about Personyze web analytics. Soon I will provide you with more information that will further explain and present how to use the Optimizer to test and measure the effectiveness of your actions, which performs better than the other in terms of conversion rate, bounce rate and any other metrics that is important to measure. The results you will see in the "Perosnyze Optimizer" page an can also look at them in the reports section. You see how advanced and how convenient Personyze can be and do for you website. The reason for using actions is as a Implicit content Personalization tool, but can also be used as an Explicit content personalization tool, if the website owner will know how to implement it, though it is possible with all the tools that Personyze web analytics offers.
